Plaid Brooch. 5" diameter. Thistle design with topaz centre stone. Crafted of pewter with a plated finish of Palladium (which won’t scratch or tarnish). Made in Scotland. Plaid Brooches are the traditional method of fastening the plaid, cloak or shawl at the shoulder. At one time they became so exaggerated in size and design that a law was passed in Scotland forbidding the pin to protrude beyond the shoulder.
